Sott update
A small update but we'll see what it'll bring!
Terminals Hack Interface now supports images as well as text, so you can have the question which refers to an image. So far I've decided to make the image 200x150 and in .png format.
So now you can design questions which can have an image, go here to add your question to sott.
Here is an image of an image in the terminal:
download the newest silence of the terminals here (also now on the links sidebar)
I'm now thinking about adding the support of that people can pick which type of questions they want, so its not server dependant but client. As to say the client picks to get questions about C++, and someone else inthe server could get Java or HTML/CSS questions. Or is this unfair?

Nice!
I like the idea of choosing your own questions, as it means that people at different levels who are learning different things can play together...
I reckon as long as it indicates in the HUD who's joining with which questions then it's fair...? Do you think?
BTW: I just downloaded thinktanks and the sound works fine on Linux... so not sure what might be different with SOTT?
It just keeps getting better! With sound too! Have posted about your work at TALO. Am coming in this morning for some serious learning fun.
Yeah Michael, thinktanks is a great little game :-). But it does use an older version of the engine, you may want to try swapping some of the files from thinktanks to Sott (like the OpenAL lib). Not the .EXE because they made a lot of changes, also to the misson format.
I've noticed some sound problems here and there, got to take a look at it all. I think it maybe interference with other applications.
Yeah that sounds like a good idea to show who is doing what questions, and maybe a server "force learning type" command also. So people can have challenges in who is the best at "something".
I'm not "here" on friday :-(, you'll have to play with everyone else.
Thanks for posting about it, makes it all worth while :-).
BTW: I'll put up a server at home on my laptop, see if your "Query Master Server" brins it up and able to join (most likely not).
That worked Edward (for the sound on linux!).
The thinktanks demo had a 'lib' folder with openal.so, copied it across and bingo!
:)
I wonder if it's ok to package that apart of the distro for Sott. Because I don't want to have to tell people to get ThinkTanks to get it :-P. Although its a great game! The most popular Torque Game Engine Game I'd say. It was a huge hit on Mac!
