SOTT Developments

Health Viles have being added to SOTT, removal of the old health packs. These work as soon as you touch them like in most FPS games. There are quite a lot placed around the place and I think gives it something to fill up the areas.

Things I'm thinking of looking in to:
Damage booster (like Quad Damage, Double Damage etc)
Mega Health (200 Health)

Any other ideas?

I'm looking to release this version in a few days along with a new map (and some other little things).

Good idea about the health viles... (I always forgot to press H to apply the health packs!).

Do they regenerate too? Not sure if they should or not?

Can't think of other ideas atm... I'm always thinking about things outside of the FPS genre (running around with a big gun). Was thinking about a stealth game where you can set traps etc, where people don't get hurt, but are just held for 10 secs or so... kinda like stuck-in-the-mud ;) But that's for another game!

Hello Michael,
The health viles only recover 5 health each so there not as good before but more and easier to use so i thing it makes it better gameplay really.

So you'll have to pick up a row or two.

They respawn for this reason.

Not sure how you could hold them I'm guessing you could just popup an invisible dialog instead of the PlayGUI and they won't be able to move. And to restart there movement maybe they have to answer a question then?

And traps can be just like a trigger which people drop (like a mine, maybe a stick would be good as a trap?) and then you just spawn the trigger at the same point as the mine.

function TrapProjectile::onAdd(%this,%obj)
{
%objp = new Trigger()
{
position = %obj.position;
scale = "1 1 1";
dataBlock = "TrapTrigger";
//dynamic data
owner = "player id";
};
}

and so that will spawna trigger at that point in the world and you'll have to handle the "owner" so they don't get stuck while dropping it.
